Full-Stack Developer

Title: Full Stack Developer Department / Team: Technology Location: Remote Employment Type: Independent Contractor Own and build the core technology infrastructure powering Dark Alpha Capital’s investment and origination engine. Design and deploy end-to-end systems, from CRM workflows to data pipelines and internal tools, that enable deal teams, researchers, and leadership to operate efficiently in a fast-moving, data-driven environment, with direct impact on how the firm sources, analyzes, and executes opportunities.

We are an independent sponsor firm focused on sourcing and managing private investment opportunities. Our team partners with a broad network of debt and equity investors to fund transactions across diverse industries. Role Summary

We are seeking a highly capable Full-Stack Developer to design, build, and maintain internal tools and platforms that support our investment, origination, and operational workflows. This role will work closely with deal, research, operations, and leadership teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys owning end-to-end systems, moving quickly from concept to production, and building pragmatic tools in a lean, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications to support deal sourcing, CRM workflows, and reporting.
  • Backend Systems: Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data integrations (both internal and third-party).
  • Frontend Design: Develop clean, responsive interfaces tailored for internal non-technical users.
  • Data Integration: Seamlessly integrate data sources including spreadsheets, CRMs, and external datasets.
  • Optimization: Implement authentication, permissions, and security best practices while ensuring system reliability and scalability.
  • Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, iterate on solutions, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Technical Support: Troubleshoot issues, fix bugs, and support ad-hoc initiatives across origination and research teams.

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong experience with full-stack development (frontend + backend).
  • Proficiency in modern web technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React or similar).
  • Experience building backend services using Python, Node.js, or similar.
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and working with APIs.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or data-heavy applications.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, workflow automation, or data pipelines.
  • Background in finance, private equity, or professional services environments.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar).

  • Standard office hours 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (EST)
  • Remote role, with periodic strategic syncs

Compensation

Structure: 100% success-fee based.

Terms: Payable only upon successful transaction close; no base salary or retainer. 

Dark Alpha Capital LLC offers a hybrid compensation structure combining milestone-based payments with performance-driven upside. Compensation is primarily tied to the successful delivery of agreed technical milestones (e.g., CRM systems, web applications, APIs, data integrations, and internal tools). In addition, the Full Stack Developer may be eligible to earn a 1.5% Success Fee on Net Closing Transaction Fees generated from system-driven, CRM-attributed introductions, or an equal share of up to 5% when multiple developers contribute. Success Fee eligibility is based on measurable system impact, including the ability of developed tools and workflows to source, reactivate, or enable qualified business opportunities that lead to executed transactions. Payments are typically calculated quarterly and distributed within 60 days following the end of each period, contingent on successful transaction completion and receipt of fees by the Company. All compensation is strictly tied to technology development and system performance, with no involvement in securities transactions. Eligibility also requires accurate and timely documentation of all relevant activity within internal systems.
