Vice President of Marketing

Title: Vice President of Marketing Department / Team: Deal Team Location: Remote Employment Type: Full-time; Non-exempt Responsible for owning and scaling the firm’s marketing function, from strategy through execution. This role oversees content, websites, campaigns, and team operations, ensuring all marketing efforts are aligned with business objectives and contribute directly to pipeline development and transaction outcomes.

About the Firm

Dark Alpha Capital is a private investment firm and independent sponsor focused on acquiring and growing lower-middle-market businesses. The firm operates across company origination, investor outreach, deal sourcing, and go-to-market execution. Our work sits at the intersection of finance, outreach, data, systems, and execution.

We are building a serious platform, not a cosmetic marketing function. Marketing at Dark Alpha Capital is tied directly to credibility, outreach effectiveness, funnel performance, and firm growth across both investor-facing and company-facing channels.

Role Summary

Dark Alpha Capital is seeking a VP of Marketing to lead and manage the firm’s marketing function. This person will be responsible for marketing strategy, execution oversight, cross-functional coordination, deadline management, personnel supervision, and overall accountability for marketing output.

This is a leadership role for someone who can think strategically and execute practically. The VP of Marketing will oversee websites, landing pages, content, brand presentation, blog output, social media, funnel development, email messaging support, and coordination with capital markets, originations, GTM engineering, and leadership.

This person will be expected to organize the function, drive work forward, ensure quality, manage internal and external contributors, and build a disciplined marketing operation aligned with firm objectives.

  • Assign responsibilities, manage workloads, and monitor deliverables
  • Set deadlines and ensure work is completed on time and at an acceptable standard
  • Recruit, evaluate, manage, and where necessary replace marketing personnel
  • Create an organized system for delegation, review, and follow-through

3. Website and Landing Page Oversight

  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of Dark Alpha Capital websites and landing pages
  • Direct content, structure, UI coordination, and conversion-focused improvements
  • Coordinate with developers, designers, and technical personnel to improve user flow and site effectiveness
  • Ensure digital properties reflect firm strategy, credibility, professionalism, and business priorities

4. Content and Messaging

  • Oversee and, where needed, personally produce blog posts, articles, website copy, campaign messaging, and related written materials
  • Direct content development for both investor-facing and company-facing funnels
  • Review and refine messaging for clarity, professionalism, and conversion effectiveness
  • Maintain consistency in voice, positioning, and presentation across all channels

5. Social Media and Brand Presence

  • Manage the firm’s social media presence and broader external marketing cadence
  • Oversee content calendars, posting schedules, and campaign alignment
  • Ensure consistent publication of thoughtful, professional, and strategically aligned content
  • Help strengthen Dark Alpha Capital’s visibility and market presence through disciplined execution

6. Funnel Development and Campaign Execution

  • Lead the development and refinement of marketing funnels for investor outreach and company origination
  • Coordinate campaign execution across websites, landing pages, email, blog content, and social channels
  • Improve conversion logic, message sequencing, and user pathways
  • Build repeatable systems for campaign organization, asset management, and execution discipline

7. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with capital markets teams on investor-facing materials and outreach support
  • Coordinate with originations teams on company-facing funnel strategy and related materials
  • Work with GTM engineers and data acquisition personnel on ICP development, targeting logic, and messaging inputs
  • Support email copy and campaign structure tied to personalized outbound efforts, including Liquid syntax and spintax-related workflows where relevant
  • Serve as the marketing lead across internal groups and ensure alignment among moving parts

8. Standards, Accountability, and Execution Discipline

  • Be accountable for deadlines, work quality, and execution follow-through
  • Establish internal review standards for marketing materials and campaigns
  • Identify gaps, bottlenecks, and underperformance and correct them proactively
  • Ensure the marketing function operates with discipline, responsiveness, and high standards
