Role Summary

The VP of Operations serves as the operational nerve center of the firm. Functioning as a Chief of Staff, you will sit at the intersection of investments, capital markets, and internal management. This is a "doer-leader" role; you are responsible for translating the Managing Partner’s priorities into executable plans. You must be equally comfortable architecting high-level firm strategy and handling granular administrative execution to ensure no deal or internal workflow hits a bottleneck.

Key Responsibilities

  • Firm Integration: Act as the primary integrator across all functions; ensure cross-functional alignment between investments, HR, and capital markets.
  • Transaction Support: Support all active deals from diligence through closing; track timelines, dependencies, and external advisor deliverables to maintain deal momentum.
  • Capital Markets Coordination: Support capital-raising efforts and investor data requests; serve as the internal bridge between deal execution and investor communications.
  • Human Resources Leadership: Own the internal HR function, including drafting JDs, interviewing candidates, and supervising associates on day-to-day HR tasks and onboarding.
  • Systems & Governance: Oversee internal administrative functions, CRM (Bitrix24) hygiene, and task management systems; enforce reporting standards across the firm.
  • Meeting Leadership: Participate in all core firm meetings; convert decisions into tracked action items and hold team members accountable for execution.
  • Internal Visibility: Maintain real-time reporting for the Managing Partner regarding deal pipeline status, execution progress, and staffing capacity.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, execution, or Chief of Staff roles within Private Equity, M&A Advisory, or transaction-driven professional services.
  • Strong understanding of the M&A lifecycle and firm-level operational workflows.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously in a remote environment.
  • High integrity and discretion; comfort operating in ambiguity and solving problems without escalation.

Preferred

  • Prior experience supporting capital raises or public-market transactions.
  • Experience managing HR functions in a lean, high-growth organization.
  • Experience working directly with a Founder or Managing Partner.
  • Expert proficiency in CRM and project management platforms.

Skills and Competencies

  • Operational Nerve Center: The ability to see the "entire board" and identify execution gaps before they impact a deal.
  • Outcome Ownership: A focus on results rather than activity; the discipline to handle administrative "scut work" if it unblocks a path to closing.
  • Independent Judgment: The authority to make decisions within defined strategic parameters to maintain firm velocity.
  • Accountability: A firm but professional approach to managing internal teams and external third parties.
