About Stan Cotek

Stan Cotek is an accomplished finance leader with over 20 years of experience spanning financial services, asset management, insurance, and consulting. As a hands-on dynamic executive, he has led complex finance operations and strategic initiatives for high-growth startups, distressed turnarounds, and global public companies.

Key achievements include:

  • As Transition CFO at Assured Investment Management, optimized processes to shorten closing cycle by 3 days and reduced expenses by $5M through reallocation.
  • Drove acquisition of BlueMountain Capital Management ($17B AUM) while at Assured Guaranty, diversifying revenue from $368M risk-based to recurring management fees.
  • At CIFG Assurance North America, helped improve equity from -$5.3B to +$700M and eliminated $40B of off-balance sheet exposure through restructuring post-2008 crisis.

Cotek has served in CFO, Treasurer, and VP Finance roles at Assured Investment Management, Assured Guaranty, CIFG Assurance, and Lexent. He has led multiple complex M&A deals, IPOs, spin-offs, and restructurings.
